Oriental Fire Bellied Toads
This is an oldie but a goody. Beautiful, complicated creatures jumping all around, but going nowhere. Just like me.

Griffin
Like most nerds in the 80's, I grew up playing Dungeons and Dragons. What a vast source of imagination and creativity that was. An endless supply of monsters and mythical creatures that only existed in your mind and in the illustrations of the manuals I just could not get enough of. I owe a lot to those years I spent playing that game with my friends, but my real interest always was with the fascinating artwork.

Winged Lion Warrior
I think the big cats that inhabit the African plains are exceptionally breathtaking in their grace and elegance. I wanted to draw a lion, but to incorporate some elements of fantasy with it. The result is this armor plated, sword wielding metallic cat.

Six Armed Owen
We all find ourselves, at times, feeling very overwhelmed with life's many demands. During one of those times, when I was feeling particularly busy with a couple of projects, I imagined myself as having more hands with which to draw and create. Also, I find the Hindu Lord Shiva to be fascinating. This piece is an attempt to bring together those two entities.

Lovecraftian cactus
The great horror writer H.P. Lovecraft has long been a favorite of mine. Plants and succulents are a favorite of my girlfriend's. So, when her birthday came around and I wanted to draw a beautiful flowering cactus for her, I chose to mutate it a bit. Adding extra tentacles and creepy crawlies made it look a little bit more like one of Lovecraft's barrel shaped Elder Things.

Man with big brain
Self portrait of me and my biggest muscle!

Mermaid Treasure
I love beautiful women and I love mythological creatures. I wanted to give this green skinned beauty something to be happy about, so I gave her a King's ransom in treasure. Go ahead and take your time to examine all the strings of pearls, jewels and gems she is pulling out of the sunken chest. This drawing is really only about 4 1/2 inches tall so it took a lot of patience and pencil sharpening to pull this one off.

Purple Dragon
More great inspiration drawn from the days of Dungeons and Dragons which never really left me. I love to fixate on all the little scales and details of any lizard or beast I try to draw. It is apparent in this coiled monster with his purple scales and powder blue under belly.
