Hydrangea
A more recent drawing of mine, these hydrangeas are beautiful to me. Subject matter involving dozens of tiny, delicate flowers always seems like a daunting task when first embarking upon it. But with perseverance and devotion to the piece, you eventually come out with a successful image.

Orange Roses
To me, roses are the quintessential beautiful flower. There are so many varieties with so many different colors and petals that one could look at them all day long. I've always enjoyed depicting roses in colors other than the traditional red or pink. Blue roses are fun, but these days I am happy to draw them in brighter shades, such as these beauties right here.

Blue Iris
Pick a flower, any flower, and decide you want to mimic it onto paper one day. the more you look, the more exquisite details you will find in it. The delicate folds and soft caresses of this iris are a perfect example of the delicate nature of so many of the beautiful flowers that exist to explore and admire.

Daffodils.jpg
My girlfriend's back yard is filled with all kinds of blossoming bushes and frolics of flowers throughout the year. Her absolute favorite is the daffodil. I think that's why she named her dog Daphne. I attempted to draw some small but striking examples on the black paper as I have recently become very fond of doing so. These flowers are also drawn only about 3 1/2 inches tall. She loves them.

Verbena
This is a fun little drawing I created because I wanted to use the color purple! Another beautiful cluster of flowers that caught my attention and that I wanted to recreate with colored pencil on paper.

Lupine With Bees
I find myself searching through images of pretty flowers searching for a variety that seems intriguing to me personally. These lupines grow up in the mountains and the scenery involved hooked me in. I added all the little bees to make the drawing a little special. Of course, bees are an important part of nature and including them shows how much I appreciate their contribution to the world of flowers.

Anniversary Roses
I like to give my girlfriend Tammy a drawing every Valentine's Day and every Christmas as special gifts. We have been together for 6 years, so this past Valentine's Day she got a drawing of six roses. To be extra cute, there are a few little buds of flowers yet to open, which I told her signify our future together! That made her smile. So, a successful present. Maybe, I could create one for you.

Hyacinths
Springtime is a great time if you're someone like me who loves and appreciates beautiful flowers. I drew these three color variations of hyacinths around Easter of last year. Not only do they have a fantastic fragrance, if you're lucky enough to have lives plants to draw from, but they are also amazingly delicate and elegant to examine and admire.

Tree Branches
Having fun in the Fall with drawing. Lots and lots of little oak leaves. Pretty colors, lots of little details. A great way to spend your time and talent.

Chrysanthmum
Basically, just rendering and blending a couple dozen orange tongues until your hand go numb. A challenging flower to recreate but completely worth the hours of effort.
